Food to avoid

Consumption of a high amount of sugar, dairy products, alcohol, salt, and preservatives should be avoided, because these foods may increase inflammation.

Increase vitamin intake

Vitamins C and D have been shown to support healthy joints. Vitamin D specifically may prevent arthritis.

Maintain weight

This is an obvious way to relieve arthritis pain. Increased weight on the joints like knees, ankles, and hips which are load-bearing makes one highly susceptible to arthritis. Maintaining weight in good condition may help to prevent arthritis.

Exercise regularly to relieve arthritis pain

Cardiovascular and light weightlifting exercise can help people to reduce weight and keeps muscles strong and joints flexible.

Treat injuries adequately

If anyone has repetitive injuries in joints like ankle, knees can lead to arthritis in later years. In such cases, people need to take adequate treatment after injuries.

Reduce repetitive motions or increase physical activity

Repetitive motions in daily life like work, sports, sitting still for long periods of time can often cause stress on joints and spine which can lead to arthritis. Improper knee bending, squatting, bending over and kneeling can cause repetitive stress and microtrauma. One need to change physical activity to avoid repetitive actions and stand up every 30 minutes from desk work can reduce the risk of arthritis and relieve arthritis pain.

Quit smoking relieve arthritis pain

Smoking weakens bones health structure. Arthritis patients observed improvements from quit smoking.

This habit is similar to smoking as it weakens vitamin absorption and bone structure.

Avoid Stress to relieve arthritis pain

Life can be stressful at times. But when you add arthritis pain to it, it gets worse. But do you know that stress actually makes you feel worse and stop you from feeling better? So try to get rid of stress – spend time with your family, go for a vacation, write a journal to express your feelings, meditate, basically whatever makes your stress to go away.

Be Active

Find it hard to make some free time, check out some simple but effective activities you can do anytime, anywhere you want. Any movement would be better than sitting still. Pick an activity you enjoy dancing with music. Walk while you talk, use a portable phone or wireless headset and walk around the house as you carry on conversations. Vary your walking workout by climbing the stairs at home or work. Even short amounts of extra stair-climbing improve cardiovascular health. Start out by adding just one or two extra trips up the stairs each day, then increase.

Use Turmeric

Turmeric contains a powerful antioxidant called curcumin. The “curcuminoids,” as they are called, are primarily responsible for the numerous health benefits of turmeric. Since bodily inflammation is the main cause of arthritis and joint pain, it’s crucial to control inflammation. This is precisely what turmeric supplements do
