Diabetes can be divided into three types based on how it affects our body:
- Type 1 Diabetes: Sometimes in diabetes, immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. The pancreas then produces little or no insulin. When this happens, it is called type one diabetes.
- Type 2 Diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is when the body produces enough insulin for metabolization, but for some reason, the body cannot use it effectively.
- Gestational diabetes: Some pregnant woman develops diabetes during the late period of pregnancy. This type of diabetes disappears after giving birth.
