Controllable causes of arthritis

Injury: Post-traumatic arthritis can be caused by injuries.

Abnormal metabolism: Abnormal metabolism result in weight gain and obesity, which can trigger onset and progression of arthritis.

Infections: Caused by microbial agents which might lead to different types of arthritis.

Occupation: Jobs that require frequent use of joints because of bending and squatting, might lead to arthritis too.

Lifestyle: Arthritis can also be caused by the type of lifestyle or previous medical condition.

There are also some environmental factors that might increase the risk further if you’re susceptible to a condition. These include such as:

  • Previous Injury
  • Infection
  • Smoking
  • Occupations which are very physically demanding and required repetitive motions.

Although we can not do anything about the non-controllable risk factors, But by living a healthy lifestyle which includes controlled diet, weight management, regular exercise and physical activity we can manage arthritis pain and reduce the symptoms of arthritis.
